Our Story

Our passion for events and catering began in 2000, when the Falciani family started managing the enchanting Villa Castelletto, located in the heart of the Sienese countryside. Alongside the management of the villa, which was immediately appreciated for hosting weddings and private events, the internal catering service was also introduced.

Glicine, synonymous with passion, tradition and experimentation, is born from these deep roots. A kaleidoscope of experiences and love for cooking, which more than ten years ago became reality thanks to the love for this profession of Federico Falciani, CEO and Founder of Glicine.

Federico Falciani

Federico, the second generation of the Falciani family, grew up working in the family business, which operates in the hospitality and catering sectors. He dedicated most of his time to Villa Castelletto.

He continued his studies, earning a degree in Economics & Finance, balancing both his education and work, before starting his career in consultancy. Federico gained experience in China and the United Kingdom, before returning to Italy in early 2017 with the intention of embarking on a new business path for the family enterprise. This is when Glicine was born, a catering and food production company where Federico sought to combine the experience gained in his youth with the skills acquired in his professional career, while enhancing the local area, Tuscan traditions, and Made in Italy excellence.
